author: Sally Koslow
thing that drew me in: the idea of watching your life play out without you
reason for reading: just for fun
This book was on my short list for my book club hosting month. It didn't win, but it had piqued my interest, so I picked it up on my Target gift card, leftover from Christmas.
I liked it. Liked. Not loved. The premise is interesting, and the book well written. I liked how the story unfolded and the characters were believable. And likable, despite their flaws. The cheating was a bit much. I thought it put some of the characters into stereotyped spaces, instead of letting them live beyond them. I realize the hang up is mine, but it certainly inhibited my loving the book.
favorite moment of the book: when the nanny finds the dear daughter letter and no one knows when/why it was written.
favorite character: might have been the boyfriend. he was so broken. i'm a rescuer.
