author: t greenwood
thing that drew me in: i needed a book in a hurry and there were a number by this author on the shelf. i originally chose a different one, but then was drawn in by the yellow bird with the butterfly wings "swimming" upstream against the tide of snow
reason for reading: fun
I read this book over two days. Instantly capturing my attention, I was pulled right in. Curiously, as I often do not read books with male leads. Not necessarily consciously, but certainly true.
I loved a few things about this book: the ripple effect of actions on others, the instant unraveling of one's life, and the honesty of the flaws. I didn't like that I was suddenly involved in (reading about) another adulterous relationship. And upon finishing I was grumpy for having wasted my time. However, as the book lingers, I see how impactful it was.
favorite scene: this is tough. i liked the realism of him driving away from the campsite.
favorite characters: the inlaws. thought they showed tremendous kindness. and i really liked ben for who he grew into.
